We will miss him terribly....

Riley slipped away peacefully in his sleep in
the wee small hours
the morning of May 22, 2008. God bless him,
he was the smartest dog I ever knew and he spared me the awful
hard decision that so many pet owners have to make. I will miss
him every day and will always be grateful that I was allowed to
"borrow him" for a short while.
A heart of gold stopped beating,
two shining eyes at rest
God broke our hearts to prove,
he only takes the best.

"Riley"
January
1998 - May 2008

Pictured here at 7 1/2 years old, Riley was my first
Cavalier. He was, by far, the smartest of all my dogs and he ran
things around here. Christmas packages could not be left
unattended, he would open them all. He believed that whoever died
with the most toys wins. I have learned many life lessons from Riley
and now with his passing at 101/2 years of age, nothing will ever be
the same.
